it is so so important that if you want to pack- get something *floppy and small.* Packers and dildos don’t work the same way penises do- they can’t lose girth or length and they are generally less “adjustable.” A penis can be very different sizes when flaccid vs erect! According to some estimates, the average flaccid penis is ~3.6in, while the average erect is ~5.1in. It is completely normal to have a penis under 6-7’’, despite what you may have heard.
Buying the wrong packer, or trying to use a dildo as a packer, can lead to you always looking like you have an erection, or just be uncomfortable in general.
“Pack n Plays” are packers meant for packing and also use during sex. While they may have adjustable positions, they generally come in bigger sizes and are meant to act more as an erect penis. Which, as mentioned above, can be very different from a flaccid penis, and will lack the “squishiness” of devices designed for only packing. In my personal opinion, separate packing and “playing” devices are ideal, but you may come across one (at a high cost) that can work well as both.
I’ve also seen some dildos labelled as for packing if they work with boxer harnesses- but unless they have some sort of mechanism to switch between flaccid and erect, it might not actually be good for packing.
Of course at the end of the day it’s up to you, but I have seen many people make the mistake of going too big and not realizing what they were getting into. Some people do have naturally large penises even while flaccid, so something bigger may be right for you! Just do your research and make a well informed decision, especially before buying something expensive.
You also don’t need a full on expensive prosthetic if you just want the feeling of something down there- a rolled up sock works nicely!
